The Commonwealth Bank Shooting Stars will contest four limited-over matches against New Zealand A in New Zealand from 8-12 February.

Shooting Stars v New Zealand A. - Sund 8 Feb   

The Shooting Stars have opened the 4 match series with a 13 run (Duckworth/Lewis Method) victory on Sunday.

New Zealand A won the toss and elected to bowl. Australia started well reaching 0/27 off 7 before rain stopped play and 89 minutes were lost. The match was reduced to 49 overs a side and Australia racked up 7/242.

Kate Blackwell lead the way with 69 off 69 and was well supported by Kelly Applebee (46 off 63), captain Leah Poulton (29 off 54) and Jodie Purves (27 off 32). Tsukigawa was the best of the bowlers with 2/31 off 9 while Watson also picked up 2/38 off 8. Scripps and Little each took one.

In reply, the Kiwis were restricted to 7/229. Watson providing the backbone with 85 not out off 98. Pulford (30 off 48), Martin (27 off 41) and Flannery (21 off 39) all chipped in. Lauren Ebsary took 2/34 off 8 and Leteysha Randall 2/40 off 10. Sarah Andrews and Emma Sampson took one apiece.

Shooting Stars v New Zealand A. - Mond 9 Feb   

Yesterday, the Shooting Stars recorded their second win in the 4 match series.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat, scoring an impressive 5/276. Captain Leah Poulton led the way with 75 off 92 (1 6 & 7 4s), sharing a 143 run opening stand with Julie Woerner (71 off 104). Sarah Aley made a quickfire 40 off 27 (1 6 & 3 4s) while Kate Blackwell also chipped in with 34 off 37.

Tsukigawa picked up 2/55 off 10 while Cooper took 2/67 off 9. Pulford was the only other wicket-taker with 1/37.

New Zealand A never really got going in their run chase as they were all out for 170 in the 38th over. Flannery topscored with 31 off 38 while Hill was unbeaten on 24 from 23 and Martin made 22 off 32. Aley completed a fine all-round game with 3/29 off 6.4, backed up by Leteysha Randall (2/26 off 6) and Reanna Browne (2/31 off 4). Blackwell and Lauren Ebsary also chipped in with one each.

The 3rd match takes place tomorrow while the Rose Bowl series also commences in Auckland.

Shooting Stars v New Zealand A. - Wed Feb 11

Yesterday, the Shooting Stars recorded their third win from 3 to claim the 4 match series.

New Zealand A won the toss and elected to bat, reaching a disappointing 8/144 off their 50 overs. Watson top scored with an unbeaten 39 off 111 (1 x 4) while Cooper was the only other batter to pass 20 with 29 off 67 (2 x 4).

Kirsten Pike led the way for the bowlers with 3/14 off 10 while her opening partner Sarah Andrews took 2/25 off 10. Leteysha Randall, Reanna Browne and Kate Blackwell each took one.

Australia's successful chase took only 32.3 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Blackwell backed up with 36 off 38 (6 x 4) while opener Lauren Ebsary (27 off 30, 4 x 4), Kelly Applebee (24 off 46 , 4 x 4) and captain Leah Poulton (21 off 43, 3 x 4) all chipped in. Pulford took 3/38 off 8 while Tsukigawa took the other wicket.

The 4th and final match takes place today. (12th)

Shooting Stars v New Zealand A. - Wed Feb 12

Yesterday, New Zealand A recorded their only win of the 4 match series.

Australia won the toss and batted first, being dismissed for 214 in the 49th over. Sarah Andrews top scored with 54 off 74 (3 x 4) and received good support from Jodi Purves (47 off 60, 6 x 4), Kate Blackwell (29 off 19, 3 x 4) and Kelly Applebee (21 off 34, 1 x 4).

Pulford was the most successful Kiwi bowler with 3/44 off 8 while Little and Watson picked up one each. Run out (5 times), however, was the most popular form of dismissal

New Zealand passed this total in the 49th over for the loss of only 4 wickets. Flannery topscored with an unbeaten 76 and was well supported by Kember (71). Blackwell took 2/41 off 8 while Kirsten Pike was the only other wicket-taker with 1/35 off 8.

Australia won the series 3-1.
