Australia has played 69 tests since its first test against England in 1934 in Brisbane. During that time, 162 players have represented Australia at this level.

Tests were originally played over three days. Four day tests first appeared in 1957 (v New Zealand) however they weren't played regularly until 1979. The first (and only) five day test Australia has played was against England in 1992.
